I work via telehealth with adults 18 and older in Washington state navigating life’s challenges. My approach is one of compassion, collaboration, and call to action. My therapeutic style is grounded in narrative therapy, meaning we are the stories we tell ourselves. I help you explore your barriers, relabel and define what that means to you, then explore alternative perspectives. Reauthoring these stories is what therapy is all about, and I’d be honored to help you take the first step in your healing journey
See if I’m a good fit for you:
Hi, I’m Grant.
My Experience & Education
I will be a licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of Washington coming Fall 2026.
I earned my Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Seattle University in 2026 after transitioning out of a 10-year career in human resources. My mental health interest began as a personal healing journey and resulted in a career-changing decision as a better way to serve others. My counseling training occurred in an in-patient treatment program for women in recovery from substances and/or severe mental illness. This experience along with my years in human resources have allowed me to witness both the joys and heartache of humanity.
Fueled by my personal experience and belief in healing in community, therapy is a central part of who I am and what helped me level up.
My overarching approach is Narrative therapy and as such we get to utilize different types of therapy to do the job. I’m trained in the following types of therapy: Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), & Grief Therapy.
Level Up Counseling emerged as a concept from my love of gaming and the hope I’ve found in story. This process is all about exploring what skills and experience we have for the challenges we face. The concept of leveling up is an active choice to put in the work of reflecting on our experiences, behaviors and challenges and pausing to make intentional reactions. Leveling up looks different for everyone and providing that time for reflection and learning in sessions allows for the growth to happen.
Let’s face it: growth is hard. Facing our stories is hard. But what happens once we try is something special. I’m here to walk alongside you on your journey and provide guidance and support at each step.
Seasons change and challenges evolve, but knowing how we function, what motivates us, and what is important to us makes facing those challenges a to-do list instead of a crisis.
